Action In Reading
Action In Reading Club (A.I.R.) was started by a group of parents keen on reading, pursuing personal growth and making positive impacts on families and communities. A.I.R. was established as a not for profit organization in 2019.

A.I.R. provides members access to multidimensional resources to help smooth transitions to life in Toronto, facilitate cross cultural communication, improve parenting skills, and enhance school engagement.

Empower parents to better mentor their children on developing self-awareness, building confidence and fulfilling personal potentials. As well, promoting lifelong learning through reading and applying these lessons in everyday life to nurture family bonding and become better people

We organize various activities including parent-child outings, family activities, interest workshops, volunteer opportunities, and visits to public welfare organizations.

In the fall term of 2023 and the spring term of 2024, A.I.R. selected Three-Minute Philosophy and Flow as its theme books. After considering several charitable organizations, the donation committee chose the Senior Long-Term Care Facility under North York General Hospital as this year’s recipient, contributing a total of $25,468 CAD.
Yonge Street Mission Volunteer

We picked “Parent Effectiveness Training” and partnered with Yonge Street Mission (YSM), a 200+ year-old charity, for donations. We gave $12,060 CAD and a truck of seasonal clothes and toys, sharing care. YSM, since 1896, has aided people, families, and communities in rising from poverty with dignity, fostering respect and gratitude.
Christmas Badminton Friendship Tournament

A.I.R. hosted a joyful Christmas badminton tournament at the Granite Club. Beyond the games, the event featured a unique “representative” gift exchange, where each member shared something significant to them – a cherished book, self-made art, or special ornament. This heartwarming gathering aimed to strengthen connections and spread holiday spirit.
